Southern Sweden - Alsterån stream



About the destination

The famous Alster-stream (in Swedish "Alsterån) is located in South-Sweden, in the so called "Crystal Kingdom". The stream, which is flowing through a very beautiful and variable countryside, is devided up to six different zones, providing fun both for professianal fly-anglers but also for  families with chlildren. In zones 5 and 6 there is a "catch and release" angling, in zones 1 and 4 the usage of belly-boats is allowed.  There are several parking places, toilettes, fire places and cottages. Beside trouts you can mainly catch pike, perch and bream.


How to get there

If you arrive by ferry, it is 115 kilometres from Karlskrona, but there are several low-cost flights to Sweden. The distance is more or less the same from the main airports (Malmö, Gothenbourg, Stockholm-Skavsta), it is between 280-340 kilometres.

Accomodation

We provide accomodation either in hostel rooms with share bath, or in hotel rooms with private bath. There is a possibility for bigger groups to rent apartmants for 6 to 8 persons, which are eqiuipped with kitchen as well.



Boats, equipment

The zones are all accessible from the shore, however we can provide boats to rent for pike-fishing.

About the rules

Minimum size of the trout is 40 cm. Only 1 rod per fishing permit. With 1-day permit you can catch 2 trouts. In zones 5 and 6 only fly-fishing is allowed with catch&release. There is no restrictio fo pikes and perches.

Zone 1 - Alterfors damn
700 meters long, 2 trouts per day, belly-boat allowed.

Zone 2 - Alterfors damn to small bridge
4000 meters long, 2 trouts per day, belly-boat allowed.

Zone 3 - Small bridge to Höneström damn
3000 meters long, 1 trout per day.

Zone 4 - Höneström damn to Amaden
4400 meters long, 2 trouts per day, belly boats allowed, other boats for rent.

Zone 5 - Amaden to Madväg bridge
2000 meters long. Only fly-fishing allowed. Catch and release for trouts.

Zone 6 - Madväg bridge to Skahus
1400 meters long of which the first 300 meters are quiet. Only fly fishing allowed. Cathc and release for trouts.
